Goodbye, 2018. Welcome, 2019.
I think it’s fair to say that every year has its share of ups and downs, times of contentment and personal growth mixed in with times which seem punctuated by adversity and setbacks – and 2018 has been no exception.
I’d like to know what 2018 has been like for you, if you’d like to share. What have you enjoyed or been grateful for this year? Have you taken on a healthy new habit that you’d like to carry with you into the year ahead? Or perhaps you explored a wonderful place new to you, near or far, that is worth sharing with other adventurous souls? I’d love to hear about your 2018 journey, or of your hopes for the year ahead.
As for me and my personal journey, in 2018 I…
…marked one year at my current place of employment (January),
…unfortunately let myself get fairly regularly stressed out and sick on account of work, but learned a lot about myself in the process (April-November),
…started my little seedling of a site, Cathedral Grove, as a personal creative outlet through which to share positive stories and bits of inspiration with others (April),
…turned 28 years of age (May),
…enjoyed a glamping getaway in snowy Scotland (February), a relaxed ramble around the Algarve (August), and a short but sweet city break in Amsterdam (October),
…celebrated 4 years with Nick, my S.O. (October),
…savored two separate visits home with my family in Texas (May, December).
Et cetera! As for what the new year may hold for me, I can’t really be sure – but I want to venture forth to meet it with courage, self-compassion, and a spirit of adventure.
Stay tuned for more – much more! – on Cathedral Grove; I’ve got lots of things planned for the new year. Thanks so much, as always, for stopping by. Here’s wishing you a happy, healthy 2019, fellow wanderers!
